About these christmas for preschool worksheets

These Christmas worksheets for preschool are big and simple, with one job per page and a short direction for the grown-up. Children count ornaments on a tree, trace paths from the star to the tree, press a dot marker around a star, compare big and small presents, finish picture patterns and match the same Christmas pictures.

Hands-on pages include a playdough tree to decorate with 10 dough balls, a Christmas tree to color, an I spy page, a cut and paste pattern page and big Christmas words to trace. Every page with one right answer has an answer key on page 2.

How to use them

  1. Do one page a day at a quiet table, or put a few in a December learning tub.
  2. Read the direction to your child and point to the picture cue at the top: a crayon, scissors or dot marker.
  3. Count out loud together, touching each picture.

Teaching tips

  • For the cut and paste patterns, the same rows are on the circle-the-answer page if you'd rather skip scissors.
  • Use real ornaments or bells to make the patterns before doing the page.

Questions teachers and parents ask

What Christmas activities are good for 3 year olds?

Dot marker pages, coloring a big tree, a playdough mat and counting to 3 or 4. Choose one page and keep it short.

Do these pages need cutting?

Only the cut and paste patterns page, and it has a no-cut twin with the same patterns.
