Preschoolers learn colors by using them. These color worksheets for preschool give each color its own page: the color word in big bubble letters to color, a crayon with the word on it, and pictures of things that are always that color, like a strawberry for red, a banana for yellow and a frog for green.
The pages print in black and white, so every page uses a crayon key. The grown-up or child colors the crayon first, and that crayon shows which color to use. Children who cannot read yet match the color to the crayon, and start to notice the shape of each color word.
After the single color pages, try the find the color pages (color only the red things), the color by color word pictures (a rainbow, a bunch of balloons and a caterpillar) and a draw a line color match. Pages with one right answer have an answer key on page 2.

Each page has a crayon with the color word on it. Color the crayon first, then use that color for the page. The crayon is the key.
Not yet, and they do not need to. They match each word to its crayon. Seeing the words often helps them start to recognize red, blue and yellow.
The find the color pages and the color match page have an answer key on page 2. The color pages and color by color word pictures do not need one.
