About preschool science
Preschool science is about wondering and noticing. Three, four and five year olds learn by looking closely, listening, touching and asking why. These preschool science worksheets give that curiosity a simple shape: name what you see, compare it, sort it and talk about it.
The pages cover the science topics preschool classrooms come back to all year: the five senses and the parts of the body, the weather and the four seasons, and living things, from farm animals and their babies to how a seed grows into a plant. They pair well with hands-on science activities like planting a bean, going on a listening walk or checking the weather each morning.
Every page has big, detailed black and white line art, one job and one short direction for a grown-up to read aloud. Nothing needs reading. Children point, color, dot, circle, draw a line, trace or cut and glue. Pages with one right answer have an answer key on page 2, every cut and paste page has a no-cut version, and all sheets print on US Letter or A4.
Questions
What science do preschoolers learn?
Preschool science covers the five senses and the body, weather and seasons, animals and plants. Children practice observing, describing, comparing and sorting, and they start to ask questions and make simple predictions.
What are good science activities for preschoolers?
Plant a bean seed and watch it grow, go on a listening walk, check the weather each morning, sort toys that sink or float, and visit the same tree each season. Use a worksheet afterward to talk about what you noticed.
Can my preschooler use these worksheets without reading?
Yes. Every page works from the pictures. A grown-up reads the one short direction at the top, and the words under the pictures are there for the grown-up to read aloud.
Do the preschool science worksheets have answer keys?
Yes. Matching, sorting, ordering and circling pages have an answer key on page 2. Posters, coloring, drawing and observation pages have no wrong answers, so they do not need one.
