The subject and the verb of a sentence must agree. With one subject, a present tense verb usually ends in -s: "The dog runs." With more than one, it does not: "The dogs run." I and you take the form without -s: "I run." Two subjects joined by and are more than one: "Mia and Leo play chess."
Some verbs change more: is and are, was and were, has and have, does and do. These subject-verb agreement worksheets start with a chart of the rules, then ask children to choose the verb, write the verb that agrees, work with subjects joined by and, fix the errors, sort sentences that agree or do not (cut and paste or write), and write their own. Every page with right answers has an answer key.
