These Thanksgiving worksheets for 3rd graders practice the big skills of the year with a harvest theme. In math, children solve multiplication and division word problems about pies, parade bands and the food drive, write a two-step equation with a letter for the unknown, color a turkey by multiplying, work out elapsed time on a cooking schedule, tell area from perimeter at the dinner table and read a scaled bar graph of favorite Thanksgiving foods.
In reading there is an original nonfiction text about the giant parade balloons and a story about a class thank-you chain, each with text-based questions. Children also write an opinion piece about the best side dish and a true story about a time they felt thankful, and practice abstract nouns and the conjunctions and, but, or and so. Every page is black and white, prints on US Letter or A4, and pages with one right answer have an answer key at the end of the PDF. For younger grades, see Thanksgiving Worksheets; for every Thanksgiving math page in one place, see Thanksgiving Math Worksheets.

By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.D.8Solve two-step word problems using the four operations. Represent these problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity. Assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies including rounding.Multiplication and division word problems, two-step problems, a turkey color by number, an elapsed time cooking schedule, area and perimeter, a scaled bar graph, two reading passages, opinion and narrative writing, abstract nouns and conjunctions: 12 pages in all.
Yes. Every page with one right answer has an answer key at the end of the same PDF. The writing pages have no key because answers vary; use the checklist at the bottom instead.
Yes. The parade balloon text and the thank-you chain story were written for these pages at a 3rd grade level, and the facts in the nonfiction text were checked.
No. The pages are about family, food, the harvest, the parade and being thankful, so they work for every classroom.
