About these letter C worksheets
This is cursive C and c in modern cursive: joined lowercase letters with simple capitals. How to write lowercase c: start just below the midline on the right. Curve back, around and down to the baseline, and finish with a small flick up. How to write uppercase C: start just below the top line on the right. Curve back, around and down to the baseline, and stop a little way up on the right.
Lowercase c ends with a flick on the baseline that swings straight up into the next letter, so ccc and words like cat are written without lifting the pencil. In the usual teaching order, c is learned with the downcurve letters (a, d, g, o, c, q).
The four worksheets below start with a large chart of C, c and ccc, then give a page each for lowercase c, uppercase C, and joins and words such as cat, cup, cake, cow, coat and cold.

How to use them
- Start with the chart page. Read the steps aloud while your child traces the big c with a finger, then writes it on the rows below.
- On the lowercase page, trace each single c, then the joined ccc, then write your own on the blank rows.
- Use the uppercase page for C and names like Cal, Cora and Cy.
- Finish with the words page: the joins, the words cat, cup and cake, and the sentence “Cal cut a cake.”
Teaching tips for C
- Lowercase c: Start just below the midline on the right. Curve back, around and down to the baseline, and finish with a small flick up.
- Uppercase C: Start just below the top line on the right. Curve back, around and down to the baseline, and stop a little way up on the right.
- Watch for a c that starts too low or curls all the way around into an o.
- Print at actual size (100%). The gray letters are solid, so they copy cleanly, and each row has a black model at both ends for left-handed writers.
