About these letter G worksheets
This is cursive G and g in modern cursive: joined lowercase letters with simple capitals. How to write lowercase g: start just below the midline. Curve back and around, push up to the midline, then pull down below the baseline. Loop back to the left and come up to the baseline, ending with a flick. How to write uppercase G: start just below the top line on the right. Curve back and around like a C, push up to the midline and add a short line in along the midline.
Lowercase g loops below the baseline and swings back up into the next letter, so ggg and words like go are written without lifting the pencil. In the usual teaching order, g is learned with the downcurve letters (a, d, g, o, c, q).
The four worksheets below start with a large chart of G, g and ggg, then give a page each for lowercase g, uppercase G, and joins and words such as go, gum, goat, gift, green and grin.

- On the lowercase page, trace each single g, then the joined ggg, then write your own on the blank rows.
- Use the uppercase page for G and names like Gus, Gia and Gil.
- Finish with the words page: the joins, the words go, gum and goat, and the sentence “Gus got a green gift.”
