Print at 100% (actual size) for the cleanest tracing lines.
Parallel lines are always the same distance apart and never meet, like the rails of a train track. Perpendicular lines cross to make right angles, like the corner of a page. Intersecting lines cross at one point; perpendicular lines are a special kind of intersecting lines.
Shapes can be described by their lines. A rectangle has two pairs of parallel sides, and its sides are perpendicular at every corner. A trapezoid has exactly one pair of parallel sides.
These worksheets name pairs of lines, count parallel sides and right angles in shapes, find parallel and perpendicular segments in capital letters, and draw lines on dot paper. Every fact in the answer keys is computed from the drawings.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.G.A.1Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures.Parallel lines never meet. Perpendicular lines meet at a right angle.
Yes. They cross, so they intersect, and the angles they make are right angles.
