About social studies worksheets for 2nd graders

Second grade social studies helps children see how their community works. They find places on a grid map and measure with a map scale, learn who leads their town, their state and their country, follow a loaf of bread from the farm to the store, and read and make timelines.

These social studies worksheets for 2nd graders follow four strands. Map pages use one town map for grids, intermediate directions and scale. Civics pages cover the three levels of government, voting, laws, taxes and public services. Economics pages cover producers and consumers, goods and services, scarcity and needs and wants. History pages build timelines and compare life long ago with life today.

Every page is black and white with directions a 2nd grader can read, prints on US Letter or A4, and pages with right answers have an answer key on page 2.
