About social studies worksheets for 4th graders
Fourth grade social studies looks at the whole country and a child's own state. Children learn the regions of the United States, the Native nations who have lived in each region for thousands of years, the explorers who arrived from Europe and what that meant for Native peoples, and how to find any place on Earth with latitude and longitude.
These social studies worksheets for 4th graders follow four strands. Geography pages cover the five regions with charts and a simple diagram, and latitude and longitude on a globe and grids. History pages cover Native nations past and present and explorers, told from more than one point of view. Civics pages cover state government. Economics pages cover resources, trade, profit and the economy of each region. A state report template works for any state.
Every page is black and white, prints on US Letter or A4, and pages with right answers have an answer key on page 2.
Questions
What social studies do 4th graders learn?
Many 4th grade classes study U.S. regions and their own state: geography, Native nations, explorers and early history, state government, and the state's economy and resources.
How are Native nations and explorers taught?
Respectfully and factually. Native nations are described as present-day nations with their own governments, and explorer pages state plainly how exploration affected Native peoples.
Are there maps of the states?
The regions pages use charts and a simple diagram. Use a wall map or atlas alongside them.
Are there answer keys?
Yes. Every page with right answers has an answer key on page 2. Posters, research pages and writing pages have no key.
